Beer Evaluation

Overall Impression: A pale, refreshing and hoppy ale, with sufficient supporting malt to make the beer balanced. The clean hop presence reflect modern American hop varieties. An average strength hop-forward pale American craft beer with Mexican Avocado aftertaste.

Aroma: Moderate to strong hop aroma from American hop varieties with a wide range of possible characteristics, including lemon citrus, pine, spicy, grape fruit, herbal. Hops are apparent. Low maltiness supports the hop presentation, and show small amounts of specialty malt character (toasty, biscuit) and Avocado fruit. Fruity esters are low moderate present.

Appearance: Gold color quite clear (no haze). Moderately large white head with good retention.

Flavor: High hop flavor, showing an American hop character (lemon citrus, pine, spicy, grape fruit, herbal). Moderate clean grainy-malt character supports the hop presentation, and show small amounts of specialty malt character (biscuity). The balance is towards the late hops and bitterness, but the malt presence is supportive, not distracting. Low Avocado flavor is perceived. Fruity yeast esters are low, although hop varieties are quite fruity. Moderate to high hop bitterness with a medium to dry finish. The aftertaste is clean and lingers avocado flavor.

Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Moderate carbonation. Overall smooth finish with avocado flavor presence.
